Interim status & planning

Training with the remaining training partners

Welcome on my new homepage. Once upon a time it was time to combine the blog and the website so that you don't always have to edit two pages. The summer break is now over and you will hear more from me again. There is not much left for this season. I'll do a few more runs, including the Frankfurt Marathon at the end of October. I don't expect any miracles, with my currently estimated 15 kilometers of running per week 😉

It will be more exciting for next year. After some thought and back and forth, I decided to get the Pro license for next year, both the national and the WTC license. The reason is not because I'm such a horny guy and I really want to start as a pro, but the reason is different. After years of focusing on Roth, I'm fed up with the race and have to do something else. What could be more obvious than other long distances, most of which are Ironman competitions. With the WTC license, I avoid the whole egg dance with the fully booked competitions and no longer have to decide a year in advance which races I will compete. This means that I am much more flexible in my racing design and, depending on the existing form, can also push or bring races forward. From the cost side, the WTC license pays off after just two races. Especially since I can then contest 70.3 formats at any time. Of course, I don't want to embarrass myself with the pro status, so it might give me an extra boost of motivation. The disadvantages, for now I can't go to Hawaii anymore because I won't run as an age group anymore, but that's not important to me at the moment. The doping controls are nothing new to me either, as luck would have it, I have already been tested regularly in recent years.

Everyone can decide for themselves whether I belong there now. As long as there are no restrictions on the pro status, I would actually be pretty stupid not to take advantage of its advantages.

see you soon on the street, the train or in the pool
