Hello everybody,

attached a small update. As always, things are going well, but mostly of course differently than expected. Well, that's life! So far I haven't intervened in the competition, but I still intend to. The goal remains the long distance at the Knappenmann at the end of August. And if I don't do a single competition beforehand, it will also be the first of the season. I'm curious 🙂

A lot of work currently prevents extensive training. But a nice one is my new book that is planned for Christmas. Of course, my publisher always has a lot of projects going on and that's why I only start editing now. It will be the successor to the training units, but this time with a special focus on the long haul.

Nonetheless, of course I don't just want to be in the race, I also want to achieve a result that is satisfactory for me. What is realistic will be shown beforehand. I'm slowly getting to know my performance figures that I need for a good race. In terms of training, I currently invest around 10 hours a week. I skip swimming completely and replace it with strength and pull rope training. Every day alternating cycling or running, of course everything a little more intense. I've wanted to test that personally for a long time anyway, to prepare a long distance with minimal effort.

A cycling unit looks like this: Duration 80-90min - 10-15min roll up, 3x5min threshold speed approx. 340W, in between each 5min easy - 15min easy & relax and again 3x5min.

I'm smarter in July. Then I will take over the swimming part in a Team Arndt relay at Challenge Roth and can directly compare how high the time losses are with zero meters swum.

Still, I train better with a goal in mind and maybe I'll manage a little surprise. Keep your fingers crossed.

many greetings & get in!
