Most of them, however, had their highlights in July or the last few days and are about to break into the season. I have learned three points over the last few years, partly on my own, but mainly based on the many athletes I look after, accompany or just know, and unfortunately they are confirmed to me again and again.<\/p>\n<p><b>1. Season break too short<\/b><br \/>\nSome athletes can no longer stand sitting still after three days of rest. Even if they have contested a long distance. The earlier you get in, the greater the risk of injury. Smaller inflammations and ailments accumulate and soon lead to serious injuries that have to be cured for a long time. In addition, if you return to work early, the risk of mental burnout is very high. After 3-4 weeks of training there is a really big motivation hole, from which you can not get out for a long time. Wait until you are really hungry after training again. First enjoy the break and do everything that has been behind so far. In my experience, mental recovery takes at least twice as long as physical recovery. After an LD, a 1-2 month break, during which only exercise therapy is carried out, is completely normal and healthy.<\/p>\n<p><b>2nd autumn marathon<\/b><br \/>\nThe classic after the season. Unfortunately, I cannot list here how many athletes were injured while preparing for an autumn marathon. Most often this phenomenon is combined with the first point. The break from running after an LD should be 3-4 weeks. Only then would I slowly begin again with the technique and the basics. The faster the intensity screw is turned again, the higher the risk of injury. As soon as minor problems become noticeable, remove them immediately, especially if there are still weeks or months before the marathon. Continuing training is always the wrong thing to do! How are you going to get through the time until the marathon at all?<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.michael-krell.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/4f21f54e-035f-41b3-ad2f-042856b7e416.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.michael-krell.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/4f21f54e-035f-41b3-ad2f-042856b7e416-300x200.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p><b>3. Play soccer (or other contact sports)<\/b><br \/>\nAnother classic. Countless ligament and meniscus tears are evidence of this. Swimming, cycling and running are very motionless sports. The body adapts to this. Ultimately, that&#039;s how we want it, that&#039;s why we train these three disciplines day in and day out.<b> <\/b>If you suddenly play football or something similar, with the abrupt movements and paired with triathletic ambition in which only the top places count, then many nasty surprises are inevitable. Then it can happen that the entire next season is in the stars.
