🌊 Swim Night Nuremberg – Open water focus before the triathlon
On June 26, 2025 I was there as a coach at the Wöhrder See Swim Night of the DATAGROUP Triathlon Nuremberg – an evening full of valuable technical input, practical exercises and motivation for triathletes.
📋 Supporting program
I was there from 5 p.m. and then we started straight away, with my colleague Sebastian Bleisteiner:
-
5:00–5:45 p.m. Theory session at the entry house in Wöhrder See
-
5:45–7:15 p.m. practical training session in open water
The focus was on getting to know the lake, improving technique in open water and reducing nerves before the event in August .
Testing wetsuits
-
The swim night was supported by Sailfish – everyone was able to test various models from the manufacturer and swim extensively that evening
📈 Results & Feedback
Around 40 participants, especially triathlon rookies, were enthusiastic: https://www.nuernberg-triathlon.de/news/swim-night-2025-nurnberg
The participants were able to Swim the triathlon course in advance – a great motivational and exercise advantage – also helpful for reducing nervousness and getting used to the water
🏁 Conclusion & Outlook
It was a great pleasure for me to be there again and to answer the many questions from newcomers and beginners and, I hope, to provide helpful tips and tricks on the subject of open water and competition.
The competition will take place on August 10th in the heart of Nuremberg. Both the Olympic and sprint distances will be offered. Here's all the information and registration: https://www.nuernberg-triathlon.de/
