Training camp Lanzarote

Above you can see a picture of an athlete (me 😉 who ran the last few meters down the steep Palani Road to the goal in Kona and got a cramp in my ass ... and that although I've never had any cramps in a competition. I can still do that Talking of luck, I know some who constantly have cramps in competition, but how they can continue to run is a mystery to me.

But for the pleasant part, my training camp is over. Yesterday at noon I was lying on the beach with 25 degrees and sunshine and a few hours later I was standing in front of my front door with zero degrees.

The weather still has a week to improve, because only then will I start again.

Here is a brief summary of the days:

Sunday:
Enter early - bit more than 4 hours, sometimes with a strong wind. Driving on the basis is not that easy 😉
in the evening - ran hard for half an hour + B + R exercises on the balcony.
Monday:
early - 45min neo swimming in the sea, occasionally stinging rays from the sand, but whoever was more frightened is out of the question! At least I swam a couple of intervals 😉
Then immediately after 1.5 hours on the bike and rode hard
in the evening - walked 1 hour, hard!
Tuesday:
early - drove the island with my grandparents in a rental car.
in the evening - 35 minutes of easy swimming in the Neo, this time I was lucky enough to find a real “Rochennest” with half a dozen, panic!
+ 30min easy run + 10min B + R exercises
Wednesday:
almost 5 hours by bike, a bit harder towards the end, otherwise I would have missed lunch!
Thursday:
early - 50min neo swimming, this time I avoided all known "spots" with sea creatures, but this time I was circled by seagulls for twenty minutes.
Then immediately on the bike and cycled for 1.5 hours, the last 30 minutes "time trial" !!!
in the evening - 1 hour run, including 3x2km intervals (3:55, 3:45 and 3:30 pace)
Friday:
early - 4 hours cycled, relatively easy
in the evening - 30min neo swimming, this time no "incidents"
Saturday:
early - 3 hours of easy cycling
noon - 1 hour run, basis
in the evening - departure to Nuremberg

I lived in Puerto del Carmen. Not bad as a starting point for a training camp. Good swimming conditions, long beaches and relatively calm water. Watch out for rays in the water !!
Ideal for walking, long beach promenade!
However, to cycle you have to get out of traffic for a quarter of an hour before you can start. It goes without saying that you first have to climb the mountain and this is the case with all coastal towns in Lanzarote.

For those who have not been to Lanzarote before and are used to Mallorca, it is a small change. Driving on a calm base is not so easy, there is not as much choice of terrain as in Malle. You either drive up mountains, or have wind, or both 😉 Therefore a little less good for “kilometer collectors”, because each one has to be earned hard 😉

For the more advanced, who also want to see something different from time to time, but recommended, because you get strength in the cyclist's legs 😉

My approximate balance for the seven days:
18 hours cycling - 500km,
3:45 hours running - 53km
and 2:40 hours swimming - 9km

(If you want to collect more km, you should definitely swim to the places where one or more "stone-colored" and damn dangerous-looking rays want to drive you out of their territory. For this they swim about half a meter below you, up to you have disappeared from their area. I tell you, INTERVALS don't mind, this is MAXIMUM STRENGTH TRAINING !!!

Nevertheless, Lanzarote was great fun !!!
