2. Form test: Duathlon Sulzbach-Rosenberg

(So finally a current photo from Sunday, 500m from the finish, in a cycling jersey because I didn't want to catch a cold πŸ˜‰

Hey guys,

in super nice weather I started the Duathlon Sulzbach-Rosenberg this morning. This time the VFL TriTeam Nuremberg came with a large entourage, we had gathered around 8 starters. Before that I had to buy a case of beer with which we wanted to toast the day after we crossed the finish line. I'll put it this way ... triathletes !!! in the end I had to drink my beer myself, suddenly nobody wanted anymore πŸ˜‰

Results from the competition, can be found here:

The start was shortly after 9:30, with a 7.5km run over for real undulating terrain. On the first lap there was a mountain, amazing! Suddenly everyone was gone in front of me πŸ™‚ With a little gap I trundled into the transition area in sixth place with 27:39. Due to my perfectly practiced interplay (the last time in October in Hawaii) I made up one place and cycled into the demanding parkour as fifth.

The bike course was bumpy and it was either up or down, but nothing extremely difficult, but I should have left my disc at home anyway. Not only because of the route profile, but also because it dragged against the rear of the frame and my new brake shoes on the front wheel made a loud noise when I kicked the saddle. Accordingly, angry at myself (I could have tested it beforehand ich I now drove lonely kilometer after kilometer. At some point my buddy Frank caught up with me (the young, wild), I had to react a little surprised and from then on never let him go Eyes. I knew that I could run a little faster than him today, but I didn't want to let him go too far either, because the last run was only 5km short!

After 1:03:23 I finished the 38km long bike course (both change times included).
The final run was pretty exhausting. Frank and a few others who had overtaken me at the second change, I overtook again very quickly and finally crossed the finish line with 18:49 in fifth overall, with a time of 1:49:51 and pretty knocked out.

A nice competition, but it was tough because of the running route.
This was also the end of my rest week. Now the hot phase of the Challenge Roth preparation begins!

I have to say that this was only my second duathlon. But it was fun and I will definitely visit one or the other competition of this kind. What I really like is that you don't have to drag so much stuff to the start. Put your bike in the transition area, put your helmet on, put on your shoes and that's it! πŸ™‚

skin in!
