Baur triathlon

Hi guys,

The time had come yesterday, the first triathlon of the season is now behind me.
Here are the results:

At a cozy 14.1 degrees we jumped into the Main! It was a coincidence that it was exactly over 14, 0.2 degrees colder and the swimming should not have taken place πŸ˜‰

But the organizer did have some insight, and the swim was shortened to 1000m, well based on the results it was probably 150m-200m more πŸ™‚

Anyway, after a really bad swim (I couldn't feel my feet anymore) I was washed ashore when I was about 20.
On the bike yesterday I was able to accelerate from the beginning and bring my body temperature back to a normal level. It felt good and I also had my little competition with Frank and Steffen (who had registered again at short notice). Frank gave me 2 minutes behind while swimming, Steffen only one minute. As a result, I saw Steffen first and was able to catch up with him in the first lap (of four) ... but not happy too early πŸ˜‰

The bike course was quite demanding and undulating, but it was really fun. After about 1:02 I had the four laps behind me and shortly after Rodrigo Nebel I entered the transition area as a 6th (the cycle times in the results list include all changes).

I had been looking forward to running throughout the competition, as it has been so promising in training lately. Unfortunately, yesterday it didn't go as I had imagined, my pulse didn't go up πŸ™

Anyway, it didn't help, I had to go through that now. Unfortunately, I was overtaken by two athletes, including STEFFEN, you pig πŸ˜‰ Now at the finish I was not only 3 minutes behind Frank (who incidentally delivered a bombshell, and that with my Hawaiian jersey that I gave him the day before give it back !! :), but also came straight to the finish after Steffen and lost our little internal competition.

But there is a next time!
As an overall 8 I finished after 1:58 and was even in the prize money. Now hold on tight ... drum roll, drum roll ... 35 EURONS were mine! That means, deducting the entry fee, I had made a profit of 5 euros. I will invest this money and later retire from it πŸ˜‰

Until then I have to beat Steffen again !! Revenge…

  1. That was a really great competition yesterday. You delivered a great race and hats off to the swimming part. That was definitely very cold. Then I would have loved to go on the bike course with you. If you watch you and the others like that, you really want to train again. Can't wait to compete with you on Thursday, even if you're in a different league πŸ™‚

    Have a good rest.
    Best regards, Ivan

  2. Thank you Ivan for being there and cheering! Even if the interim times with Frank, which you always called me, frightened me rather than motivated πŸ˜‰

    until Thursday!

    Michael
