Hi Guys,
today you will experience the beginning of a new series on my site. For a whole week I will devote myself to the service of science and one "Diet" carry out!!!
Like the boys in the picture above, of course protein only take nehmen, I will dramatically increase the protein content of my diet and reduce the amount of carbohydrates to the same extent. Why am I doing this?
mmmhhh ... to be honest there are 3-4 kilos after my vacation that I could burn. With this method and training carried out at the same time, it should be a matter of a few days.
But what interests me even more is the effect of such a change in diet on daily training.
Is such a nutritional strategy even suitable for endurance athletes?
That's why I'll hold out for seven long days, after a day or two you can't make any long-term observations.
If you think back a few millennia, this corresponded pretty much exactly to the food composition of our ancestors in the forest. There was either meat, fish or eggs, mainly protein, or relatively little carbohydrates from berries, roots and vegetables. Maybe a few more nuts ... there couldn't have been more.
Believe it or not believe it, there was nothing with refined carbohydrates back then. I've heard rumors that they didn't even have curd snails, pizza or chocolate.
So what will happen over the course of the seven days?
First of all, the body's own glycogen stores will be emptied, this should have happened after 2-3 days at the latest if training is continued at the same time.
In the course of this, the body will increasingly switch to burning fat because it can no longer rely on the all too convenient and quickly available carbohydrates, i.e. glycogen.
3. He could of course also use the body's own protein, i.e. the muscles, but since I feed hay-wagon loads of protein, the muscle mass is practically retained and not broken down.
... and there is the trick, with a perfectly normal "Brigitte" or "cabbage soup diet" the body burns mainly muscles due to the lack of extra protein. So you get lighter, but mainly because muscles are broken down. Muscles use a lot of energy, so the less you have of it, the lower your basal metabolic rate. As a result, you should eat less and less ... a vicious circle!
So what's the catch, you ask yourself, there can't just be advantages of the protein diet, otherwise they would all be! mmhhh ... I fear the disadvantage is that you are relatively "empty". As soon as the training exceeds the comfortable pace, you will be hungry within minutes!
I try to avoid this by consuming carbohydrates, e.g. bananas, directly before, during and after training.
The plan now looks like this, for breakfast quark, amaranth muesli, fruit, etc ... At breakfast, some of the breakfast can consist of carbohydrates, after all, the day is still long. At lunchtime there is poultry, fish, etc ... and vegetables as a side dish.
In the evening then scrambled eggs with tuna and a bucket of salad to fill your stomach!
So, starting tomorrow, with a daily status report !! stay tuned…
see you tomorrow night!

Hello Krelli,
Howdy Krelli,
so I can partially agree with Dennis. It will not be as dramatic as described, but you will be a little "exhausted" .;) On the other hand, it is really difficult to eat a low-carbohydrate diet, since almost all foods contain small amounts of carbohydrates. Meat, vegetables, salad, ...

I wish you good luck. And if there weren't any people like you who are so keen to experiment, we would still eat raw meat and beat the bush drum!

Hello Michael,

greetings from Munich
Hey Dennis I,
Many greetings
krelli
Hi Ishmael,
mmmhh ... I also fear that with feeling weak, but for that I have planned the KH injections before, in the middle and after training. Let's see if that's enough.
dig in

Hi Dennis II,
Well, a week is enough for now, if I still jump around like a young deer afterwards, then I'll expand the whole thing.
many greetings to Munich!
krelli
Moin Krelli,
I can write you a testimonial about this :) I went through the whole thing for a week (planned 2), and it worked. However, I consumed pure protein in the form of shakes, plus amino acids and L-carnitine. The result was amazing. I was able to call up a normal training performance and also did a sprint triathlon with it - without any problems! Weight reduction 4kg!
Greetings from the far north
