flat from the weekend

So ... after Steffen and Frank picked me up from Lichtenfels yesterday in Nuremberg, we cycled comfortably back in the direction of Lichtenfels. Suddenly one of the two apparently got strength again from all the noodles they had eaten for me except for the last remnant from my storage cupboard, and the pace increased noticeably. I suspected bad things about my first bike ride in three weeks. Most of the time of our "easy" ride I spent in what felt like lactate 🙂 We rewound the 100km way back in under three hours.

As flat as the turtle in the picture above, I immediately planted myself on the sofa when the "great" idea came up to go to the bathroom. Well, I let myself be persuaded, swam a full 300 meters at a time and then slipped into the steam bath. If I'm being honest, then we both sat there. We didn't swim properly after all 😉

A night of drinking and with a dry throat from too much beer, we met again this morning at 10 a.m. to cycle back towards Nuremberg. Many people know that every time I start cycling again, everything hurts, my buttocks, hands, back, etc ...…

Equipped with tons of chocolate, we drove off and immediately had two plates. So after a full 10 kilometers we had neither replacement tubes nor air cartridges! To top it all off, Steffen also wanted to go up to a former “observatory”. Half of the way we rode our racing bike over gravel roads and rooted forest floor, great, I saw myself hitchhiking 60 kilometers home with a flat rear wheel. But we were lucky and everything lasted. Now I'm finally back at home, watching the World Swimming Championships and recovering from my first two days of training in Roth.

I think it will be better in the next few days 😉
have a nice evening!
