long weekend…

and again, a training-rich and exhausting weekend is behind me. Due to a wedding on Saturday we were in Lichtenfels for the last few days. Everything was fine, the weather and that Frank and I always have a great training colleague there.

On Friday we did Frank's mountain tour, but after three hours and 1700 meters of altitude I had to end his fun early. “Frank, no more mountains !!, let's rather squeeze the last hour flat.” No sooner said than done, with Affenzahn we cycled back from Bamberg to Lichtenfels. After a total of five hours I was so knocked out that I stopped running straight away. I'd rather go to the beer garden with Julia, what a treat ...

The wedding was on Saturday, but not until 1 p.m. What does the common triathlete do during this time, clearly, he squeezes a training session in between early. So I did another long run with Frank. In the beginning we weren't at all well and we were sure that we wouldn't break the record from last time. After an hour, however, the cow “rolled” and with a moderate pulse we were back at the starting point of our lap after 28km and 1:58 hours. Frank rode a bike race on the same day in the afternoon !! Well, the young wild ones also recover much faster 😉

In a crazy changing time, I dressted myself immediately after our run as a “smart wedding visitor” and off we went to the wedding. I was so exhausted there that I almost fell asleep 😉
Only when we finally got through to the cake buffet did I slowly feel better. A long, beautiful evening including good food and lots of beer ended at 3 o'clock and regeneration could begin. Hung over and with a smoky voice, I got up early and postponed my Sunday training to the afternoon.

At around 2 p.m. I did a longer pair training session and let the day end comfortably. Today I have to recover first and will only intervene again for the club swimming this evening 😉

On Saturday Bennie wants to do his famous long distance test, swim 3km, cycle 120km and finally run 30km, let's see how the weather will be.
Frank also tries to persuade me to take part in the Falkensteiner Duathlon the weekend after next. German championship, distance: 15/70/10… oh my god, that sounds like pain !!

Many greetings

krelli

PS: another funny anecdote from my buddy Steffen, who was also at the wedding on Saturday. Two days earlier, he was visited by NADA inspectors in the “Michelau indoor swimming pool” as part of regular controls, after all, he had applied for the professional license for this year. It was a show, I tell you. Suddenly the whole bath stopped swimming and stood at the edge of the pool of Steffen's lane !!!
One always heard only: "Mei Goddd, Dobbing Gontroll, here be us, there Wohnsinn !!!"
A day later, the whole village knew where Steffen lived and what kind of sport he was doing ... also a kind of "regional advertising for an athlete";))
The test is of course negative.

  1. The doping control thing is really funny 🙂
Didn't you want to take part in the Burgoberbach Duathlon on Saturday? I'll probably cycle there, cheer you on and then cycle back again.

  2. Hi Ivan,

mmhh ... unfortunately not. Would like to start there too.
But I have to do the long distance test with Bennie 3/120/30, which brings me a lot more with regard to the Challenge Roth. Hola the forest fairy !!

  3. Hi Krelli,

you and Frank let it rip quite a bit;) your training program is not from bad parents. I'm also at a duathlon on the weekend 10/60/10. Hope I get through it 🙂

Have fun with your long distance test ...

  4. Hi Tobi,

of course you will survive that, no question about it! Hold back a little on the first run and on the second you overtake them all. In between you can take a rest on the bike 😉
    Must report how it was!

    I wish you success!
